LINDSAY CRUDELE is a James Beard Award–winning journalist who writes about the things we consume, and what they say about who we are. She hopes to be a perpetual adult beginner, with apologies to those in earshot of violin practice. She lives in Dorchester under a pile of dogs, where she is, like them, food motivated.
