Community / Advocacy
“The Hub of the Universe” is home to a rich array of cultures and cuisines, but food insecurity exists in every city and town in Eastern Massachusetts, sometimes visible, sometimes not. We are home to a robust network of nonprofits fighting for greater equity in our food system, lawmakers enacting more equitable food policy and individuals committed to food justice–to abolishing food deserts through food rescue and community fridges, providing free and nutritious school food, and eradicating hunger through community action. Hunger exists in every community, and in every community there are local food heroes fighting it together.
