We are looking for local marketing experts who are passionate about promoting, celebrating and connecting the region we call home, the food we eat and the people who grow and make it.

Edible Boston is a nationally-affiliated and award winning publication in print since 2006, backed by a network of 80+ like-minded Edible publications around the country and in Canada. We’re the go-to source throughout Eastern Massachusetts for CSAs and farmers markets, locally sourced food and beverages, farm-to-table restaurants, food access and education, sustainable food and related eco-friendly products and services that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Our readership is diverse, highly engaged and affluent, making them a desirable target audience for advertisers. As we expand our digital reach, we are also expanding this audience and bringing in a new, younger readership from across the region. We offer high-quality print, digital and event-based marketing opportunities as highly attractive advertising packages with the goal of building long-term relationships with our advertising partners.

General Sales Rep for Edible Boston and Edible Worcester

Developing new business is a priority. Sales reps will be responsible for all aspects of the sale, managing each account and prioritizing renewals. Preferred candidates will have:

  • At least two years of advertising sales experience in both print and digital advertising

  • Expertise/knowledge of the local food community in Greater Boston and Worcester County

  • Cold calling experience

  • Solid communication and presentation skills and a good understanding of small businesses, the “eat local” movement and Massachusetts’ seasonal agriculture

  • A positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit

  • The ability to build relationships effectively

  • The ability to work independently on a virtual team

  • Computer proficiency with the Google platform, Monday.com and CRM sales software are required, as is access to a broadband internet connection

  • Access to reliable transportation—work involves regional travel around the 5 counties of Eastern Massachusetts: Worcester, Middlesex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.

  • The willingness and ability to participate in monthly in-person or virtual meetings pertaining to sales work for Edible Boston and Edible Worcester.

  • The ability to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours weekly to the the position, with more time required around deadlines

  • The commitment to respond to emails as needed within 24 hours, Monday–Friday

This is a commission-based, flexible, part-time independent contractor position. Income is commensurate with sales and retention of renewals.
