Autumn Amaro Spritz

Spritz season doesn’t have to end on Labor Day. This refreshing low-alcohol cocktail is meant for cold-weather sipping as well. Da LaPosta’s Amaro Fall Spritz is made with dry cider and Amaro Montenegro from Bologna, following the classic Aperol Spritz recipe with the 3-2-1 formula.

Makes 1 cocktail

2 ounces Amaro Montenegro
3 ounces dry local hard cider
splash of seltzer
garnish: 2 slices of crisp local apple and a sprig of fresh thyme

Fill a wine glass or tumbler with ice and add the Amaro Montenegro. Add about 3 ounces dry cider and a healthy splash of seltzer or soda.

Stir with a cocktail spoon and garnish.

This recipe appeared in the Fall 2024 issue as part of a larger story by Mario LaPosta.
